Volcano: An Inquiry into the Life and Death of Malcolm Lowry
This documentary charts the life of the alcoholic writer Lowry who moved from England to Mexico and lived near the volcano Popocatepetl. Between drunken bouts he started to write the novel, Under the Volcano. It took him eight years to finish. The film is interspersed with readings by Burton from Lowry’s work.
