He began his Notebooks in 1966 and continued, albeit with some pauses, until his death in 1984. The Notebooks are fascinating for their wit and frankness, and for the depths they reveal about a miner's son from the Welsh valleys who becomes a successful actor and narrator on the world's stage. The Notebooks remain unpublished in their entirety. |
